And We're Off! Or Maybe That Should Be ON!

No, you're not hearing things. There really is something there at 104.1 FM now. WGCC is testing its signal and equipment. The dream is finally coming true! As Program Director of WGCC, I have to extend my sincerest thanks and utmost gratitude to Belinda Venuti and the rest of the crew at Geneva Community Projects. Their efforts, wisdom and guidance have proven crucial in this effort. Also, thanks to all those who donated time, money and other services, including attorney Mark Venuti. Thanks also to broadcast engineer Mark Humphrey who was instrumental in getting us on the air. And, a heartfelt thank you to those of you who have already expressed interest in volunteering with the radio station. All in all, I feel WGCC will be truly great, and it's all thanks to all of you. Stay tuned, Geneva! Lots more to come! Jason Longwell

New Local Shows Already in Development

I would like to thank those of you who have already expressed serious interest in hosting a local show on WGCC. If this response is any indication, it won't be long before many others come forward once we hit the air on FM. Two new shows are in development, with three others in the exploratory phase. You can add your show proposal to the growing list. Email genevaradio@gmail.com to start the process.

WGCC Is About To Debut

We are very pleased to announce that WGCC is soon to debut at 104.1 here in Geneva. This exciting project has been many years in the making, and soon, we will be bringing a whole new sound to Geneva. If all goes well, it is anticipated that the station will sign on with regular programming on Sunday, April 19th. So be sure to set a preset on your radio for 104.1 FM and be sure to check this space often for the latest station developments.

After nearly ten years since our unsuccessful attempt to bring community radio to Geneva, New York and the surrounding Finger Lakes region, I am pleased to say that Geneva Community Radio is Back, and poised to be better than ever. A radio service that will enhance, enrich and strengthen our community, and one that will bring diverse elements of our community closer together. This new station will offer a diverse mix of music and spoken word programming, appealing to a wide range of tastes and interests within the Ge...
